GroupMe does not allow you to see whether or not a member has blocked you. The program, like many other instant messengers, does not tell group members when they have been blocked. Instead, GroupMe users are given three options when someone tries to block them: "Block Me", "Report My IP Address" and "Do Not Block Me". Users can select any of these options to reply to the person who tried to block them.
Blocked members will be unable to discover the group in search or view any of its material, and they will be unable to be invited to the group by other members. Blocked members can still join existing groups, but they will not be able to create new groups.
The admin is likewise unable to message you or engage with you outside of the group. Even while admins may view in-group activity by those who have blocked them, many admins believe that blocking members makes it more difficult to run the group. In fact, some groups require their admins to be active group members to maintain their status.
As long as you aren't harassing or threatening someone, blocking them isn't illegal in most states. If you do find yourself in a situation where you are worried about what would happen if you blocked someone, contact Facebook directly through their help center. They can unblock individuals, but only if you don't violate Facebook's terms of service.
There is no built-in mechanism on Facebook Messenger that tells you whether someone has blocked you. The condition of the status icon on a message you've sent, on the other hand, might indicate that you've been blocked on Messenger. If the status icon is gray instead of blue, that means the person you sent it to didn't receive it.
