Place yourself near the weight stack, which is placed at the back of the machine. Remove the weight tube's pin. Check for a tensioner at the end of the cable; loosen the tensioner to add extra slack to the cable. To release the nut or case that secures the cable end to the weight tube, use an open-end wrench and pliers. This allows you to remove the weight easily if needed.
The weight stack is the metal box at the back of the machine that holds the weights. It has holes in it so that you can insert the pins that hold the weights in place.
